Wireless charging is one of the many problems the iPhone 12 seems to be facing.
A user named Ben Lovejoy reported the problem last month, saying he had trouble trying to charge the iPhone 12 using multiple Qi-certified wireless chargers. Specifically, the first day can be normal wireless charging, the second day wireless charging can not be used. After rebooting the iPhone 12, the wireless hub was able to function again for a while before the problem occurred again.
Lovejoy tried to charge the iPhone 12 with and without a case over the air, but it made no difference. In a follow-up, the issue was still present even in the iPhone 12 Beta version of Lovejoy.
The good news is that Apple appears to be aware of the bug and is working on fixing it. Apple hasn’t released a statement yet, but some users say tech support staff have revealed that Apple is working to fix the problem.
There have also been reports that Apple said the problem was not a hardware failure but a software problem, and that the system would not properly read the wireless charger’s Qi protocol in some cases, making the device unable to charge.
