Samsung releases Exynos 2100 processor

Samsung officially launched the Exynos 2100 flagship processor, which is the fifth 5nm 5G processor after Kirin 9000, Apple A14, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, and Exynos 990.

Samsung releases Exynos 2100 processor

In terms of process, Exynos 2100 uses Samsung’s 5nm EUV process, which improves performance by 10% and reduces power consumption by 20%. Among the current 5 5nm processors, Samsung has produced 3 by itself, including 2 Exynos and Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. .

In terms of CPU, Exynos 2100 integrates an 8-core CPU, consisting of a 2.9GHz ARM Cortex-X1 super-large core, three 2.8GHz A78 and four 2.2GHz A55 small cores. The frequency of X1 is higher than that of Qualcomm Snapdragon 888. 2.84GHz is even higher.

Samsung said that the CPU performance of Exynos 2100 is 30% higher than the previous generation, single-core is 19% higher, and multi-core is 33% higher.

In terms of GPU, Exynos 2100 inherits Mali-G78 MP14, 14 cores, and claims that the performance is 40% higher than the premise, but this time the GPU core is not an exaggeration, after all, Kirin 9000 directly integrates the 24-core G78.

Samsung said that Exynos 2100’s GPU also supports AMIGO’s multi-IP control technology, which can jointly optimize the power consumption of CPU, GPU and other parts, and can extend battery life under high load.

In terms of NPU, Exynos 2100 also uses 3 AI cores this time, with a performance of up to 26TOPS, which is 260,000 operations performance, which is the same as Snapdragon 888 in this regard.

In terms of ISP, Exynos 2100 also set a record this time, supporting up to 200 million pixels per channel, supporting 6 image sensors, and processing 4 at the same time to enhance the multi-camera experience.

In terms of 5G, Exynos 2100 is Samsung’s first fully integrated 5G chip, supporting 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G Sub-6G, 5G mmWave millimeter wave, the former speed can reach 5.1Gbps, with millimeter wave speed up to 7.35Gbps, 4G network It can also achieve 3Gbps performance.

Samsung said that the Exynos 2100 processor has been mass-produced, and there is no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S21 series mobile phones to be released the day after tomorrow will be the first Exynos 2100.
