Reduced charging power: The Pixel 6 can only maintain a maximum of around 22W

Despite Google’s marketing and support pages claiming that “Pixel 6 smartphones can charge to 50% in 30 minutes,” tests have revealed some false exaggeration. Google points out that the original charger has been upgraded from 18W to 30W, but consumers can’t count on the Pixel 6’s wired charging power to exceed 22W for long.

Paired with the official $25 30W USB-C power adapter, the Pixel 6 Pro only gets up to 22W of charging power, a mere 4W improvement over the older 18W device.
