Now the development of 5G network is faster and faster, and it begins to be applied in more and more fields. While 5G technology development is on the right track, many countries and enterprises are starting the research and development of 6G network. Recently, it was reported that Nokia will lead the European Union’s 6G wireless network project.
Nokia will lead the HexA-X 6G wireless network project, which is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Initiative. To better study the 6G project, Nokia has joined forces with Ericsson, Orange, Telefonica, Intel, Siemens and the University of Oulu and the University of Pisa.
Nokia says the 6G era will see people connecting to machines and connecting people to the digital world. The 6G network will be more secure and private, better used for preventive medicine, and even create a 6G network with a sixth sense that intuitively understands human intentions, increasing human productivity.
To lay the technological foundation for a 6G wireless system, The Nokia-led HexA-X project will address six research challenges, including connectivity intelligence, sustainability, global service coverage, extreme experience, and reliability.
