Goodbye! The largest operator in the United States

Verizon, the largest U.S. telecom operator, has officially announced the closing time of its 3G network, according to foreign media reports. Mike Haberman, vice president of Verizon network engineering, said: “we will close the last 3G CDMA network on December 31, 2022, a few months later than our competitors completely shut down the network.”.

He also said that the new date will not be extended, he said: “the company again to convey this message, is to give customers enough time to complete the migration.”.

Verizon announced plans to shut down 3G networks for the first time as early as 2016, aiming to shut down the service in 2019. It reiterated the plan in 2018, announcing that it would no longer activate mobile phones that can only connect to 3G networks.

At present, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Telecom and even many operators around the world are abandoning 2G and 3G networks.
