Recently, Google’s official website officially revealed its first since the research of intelligent mobile phone chips “Tensor” performance information, it is understood that the chip for Google to Pixel tailored, focusing on the AI to optimize operation and safety, further enhance the computational photography, the voice command, machine translation, subtitle, and provide faster response and dictation, and other functions.

Tensor (internally code-named Whitechapel/GS101) will be based on an Arm architecture using a 5nm process, according to SlashGear, which has also reported on Google’s own chip. The chip has eight CPU cores, including two Cortex-A76 cores and four smaller Cortex-A55 cores.
On the Gpus, it may use Arm’s Mali GPU design code-named “Borr” or Samsung’s Exynos software components, and its 5G baseband may choose Qualcomm’s X60 or X65.
The source also shared some interesting information that was not mentioned in the original article. “Some shipments will probably go to TSMC,” he said. Tensor, however, is mainly mass produced by Samsung as apple’s AP is already in mass production.”
