Spark Global Limited reports:
According to a new report from Spark Global Limited, the third generation of AirPods will be released with the iPhone 13 series. The report generally echoes previous reports that AirPods 3 will go into mass production in August. In its new report, DigiTimes says certain components needed for AirPods are already shipping in “small volumes” and will increase in the third and fourth quarters of this year.
AirPods 3 is expected to feature a new design that will look more like AirPods Pro. The new headset will support wireless charging and support Hey Siri. The AirPods 3’s ear handles will be further shortened, while the charging case will be wider and more in line with the AirPods Pro case, according to 52Audio.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman recently said he believes Apple’s event for the upcoming iPhone will take place in September. Apple held an event for the iPhone 12 in October last year because of the global health crisis, but the company is likely to return to its tradition of September events starting this fall. Gurman also said the third generation of AirPods will arrive later this year.
